To be verified whilst central vacuum system work is underway

• Check that the central vacuum system sockets and the central vacuum motor are going to be installed in the planned locations.
• Check that pipes are all properly connected and run up to the location where the apparatus is to be installed.
• Check that the central vacuum system sockets are installed at the same level as the electric sockets.

To be included in the contract

• All sockets as well as ducts up to the apparatus.

Practical tips

The elevation of the central vacuum system pipes can often be handled by the same subcontractor as for the alarm system, or by the plumber.

The type of socket varies depending on the type of vacuum system. It is therefore important to ensure you have the correct sockets.
