Plumbing accessories

To be verified whilst plumbing finishing work is underway

• Water pressure must remain constant to enable immediate detection of any leakage due to a nail or screw.
• The shower door must be watertight and must open correctly.
• The central humidifier must be connected
• Make sure that you have the correct accessories.
• Check the colors of the accessories, comparing them one by one. For example, the toilet seat in relation to the toilet.
• Check the sturdiness of apparatus installations.
• Test the apparatus (water leaks, abnormal noises, toilet filling too slowly, etc.)
• Pay particular attention to water leaks. 
   

To include in the contract

• The plumbing accessories chosen.
• Labor required for the installation.

Practical tips

Check the inventory (countertops, floors, walls) prior to and after the finishing work.
Inspect the condition of the plumbing accessories immediately after installation, to prevent any dispute.
If you have linoleum in a room where there is a toilet, you must inform the plumber not to install it yet. Organize with him to have it installed once the linoleum has been laid (at an additional cost).
If you delay the plumber’s finishing work once the linoleum has been laid, you must also delay the final finishing work.
When you delay the work of any of these subcontractors (plumber, electrician, mirror fitters), you are exposing your finished floors and carpets to additional risks.
