Gas supply - Fireplace - Barbecue

To be verified whilst gas supply work is underway

  • Clearly indicate to the subcontractor which gas-fueled apparatus are to be installed (oven, barbecue, water-heater, etc.)
  • Locate all the apparatus together with the subcontractor and give him a detailed plan
  • Make sure that the gas vents are located at least 10' away from any air inlets
  • Make sure that fireplace podiums comply with the manufacturer’s specifications (height)
  • Make sure that valves are positioned in locations which will be easily accessible once all the finishing has been carried out. 
     

To be included in the contract

  • All gas-fueled apparatus: : Water-heater, fireplace, furnace, oven, barbecue, swimming pool heating system.

 

Practical tips

In the event that gas is detected when the system is in operation, it is important to contact rapidly the supplier concerned. It is possible that ducts have been damaged during construction work, in which case they must be repaired as quickly as possible.
