To be verified whilst construction work on doors and windows is underway

The condition of the doors and windows must be checked upon delivery in order to avoid any dispute.
The number of doors and windows must correspond to the number on the delivery slip
The dimensions of the doors and windows must correspond to the dimensions on the delivery slip
It is advisable to store mosquito screens and handles carefully in order to protect and keep them clean.
During installation of doors and windows, the carpenter must foresee sufficient space for the insulation (0,5 “ in the framing)
Windows must be installed level and at right angles, they must be easily opened and closed, and airtight.
Doors and windows must open towards the exterior in such a way as to enable the exterior siding to rest on the window. It must be possible to seal the joint. It is very important to take into account the exterior siding.
The windows must be supported in the four corners and in their joints.
Inspect the condition of the doors and windows following installation
When two or more windows are located close together, ensure that they are at the same height
The front door must be supported in the corners, at the level of the hinges and the lock
The door must shut and open easily whilst remaining airtight
The weatherstripping at the base of the door must be adjusted accordingly
Temporary handles must be installed correctly and adjusted so that the door opens easily and remains airtight.
Make sure that you always have a spare key on hand, and have a key available for the subcontractors

Practical tips

Make sure that the windows are delivered in the morning so that the company installing them has time to do carry out the work that day. Leaving windows uninstalled considerably increases the risk of theft.
